Ricky Ortega – ‘The Godfather’
Ricky Ortega, the ‘Godfather’ of the Spanish football-betting circuit and has made a fortune on sports gambling. A flamboyant figure, he has an uncanny ability to make winning predictions based on his unmatchable knowledge of the Spanish and Italian football scene. His heavy connections with important figures in both these leagues also ensure he gets the most accurate and updated information for matches, unavailable to most of the betting public.

In a widely-publicized and followed weekend betting campaign in Dec 1999, The Godfather won a total of US$635,558 in that one single weekend over 19 matches in the English Premier League, Italian Serie A and Primera Liga, one of the bets being a 7-match parlay. Bookmakers have not been particularly fond of him since.

Mr Ortega has not made a secret of his fortune made from sports gambling. He is often seen zipping around in Madrid in flashy cars. The lavish parties he throws are regularly attended by well-known figures in the Spanish football scene, including top players and club officials. He is also an unlikely art lover.

In July 2003, Mr Ortega joined Inner Circle Inc as tipster and senior technical adviser.

Ivan Johnson
Ivan Johnson is an expert in statistical analysis and the mathematics of gambling. A former Government Inspector with the West Australian Government when their first casino opened, he has done extensive study on the mathematics of the House Edge of casinos and bookmakers. His specialty in this area is especially useful when calculating the motives of the sportsbooks from match opening odds.

Mr Johnson has an innate ability to turn football-betting factors into mathematical formulas to yield precise predictions each time he makes a selection. Whilst not as well-known as our other two tipsters, he has quietly accumulated a football-betting portfolio that cannot be ignored.

Whilst our research team supports him with the legwork, Mr Johnson is actually the de facto leader of the statistics department and often opens up their eyes to new ways of interpreting data. This is impressive considering the credentials of our research team.

The humorous Ivan Johnson joined The Inner Circle board of tipsters in Mar 2005.

Damien White
Damien White is best known in the top circles of the sports-betting industry as the ‘Reader’ for his ability to see through all the fluff. He has an intimate knowledge both of the game and dynamics of the football-betting market and has served as a professional handicapper and consultant for international bookmakers in Europe and Asia. Mr White has extensive contacts at all levels of the football-betting industry, including coaches, players, club directors, international sportsbooks and underground bookies in the Far East.

Following a brief stint in the real estate industry as a developer after announcing his ‘retirement’ from betting football professionally in 2003, Mr White is back to doing what he does best – predicting football match results.

Besides being intimately familiar with all aspects of European football, Damien White is naturally gifted in spotting betting opportunities where other ‘experts’ are unable to do so. Having spent some time understanding the modus operandi of betting syndicates in Asia and the Far East, Mr White favours releasing picks based on Asian Handicap (although he does give picks for Fixed Odds Bets every now and then). His advantage lies in understanding how bookmakers use Asian Handicap Odds to influence betting activity through various ‘betting cycles’. His betting tips have been known to approach accuracy rates of 80% over a season.

Damien White has a network of contacts that pervades all levels of the industry and joined The Inner Circle as one of our senior tipsters at its inception.
